Willkommen to
“My Hometown
Oktoberfest.”
The 2009
Oktoberfest
theme reflects
the pride we all
feel about our
event and our
city, La Crosse.
If you are a
member of our
community, you
know the pride
we refer to and
the reasons we
live here … the
natural beauty
of this
driftless region
that makes it so
special, the
mighty
Mississippi, the
wonderful people
that make up our
community and
the ritual of
celebrating
every fall for
the past 49
years. Truly the
people of this
area are what
have kept this
community, as
well as this
festival, one of
the best in the
state.
Oktoberfest is a
network of
volunteers that
make this event
happen each
year. My
personal thanks
to the parent
groups, church
groups and
service
organizations
for all the work
they do for us.
Additionally
2009 La
Crosse
Festivals
President,
Jodi
Ehrenberger
we have a
dedicated group
within our Fest
family that
works year round
to promote
Oktoberfest and
our hometown. We
do much more
than put on a
great festival
every year. Our
Oktoberfest
family visits
countless
schools and
nursing homes,
participates in
over 25 parades,
volunteers for
bell ringing and
provides
gemütlichkeit
throughout the
year.
As you celebrate
with us this
year, I hope you
will take some
time to visit
Festland … a
wonderful
display of
Oktoberfest
history you
helped us build.
While you’re
there you may
get the chance
to visit with
past Festmasters
and Mrs.
Oktoberfests.
Again, welcome
to My Hometown
Oktoberfest. I
hope it is a
chance for you
to celebrate
with old and new
friends in the
spirit of
gemütlichkeit!
Prost!
