is ... Krause

Peter J. Krause
will be the
honorary head of
Oktoberfest as
festmaster for
2007.
Krause, vice
president of
investments at
UBS Financial
Services Inc.,
was introduced
Friday night at
the Festmaster’s
Ball in the La
Crosse Center.
His duties as
festmaster will
include
appearances at
parades, nursing
homes, schools
and fest events
as an ambassador
for La Crosse.
“It’s a
wonderful
community filled
with the best
people,” he
said.
Krause said it
was an honor and
a privilege to
be chosen. He
and his wife,
Krin, have known
about the
decision since
April.
“We’ve kept the
secret for a
long time,”
Krause said.
“That
2007
Oktoberfest Festmaster
Peter
Krause
and
Frau
Krin
was hard.”
He did inform
most of his
family during
the Labor Day
holiday, but no
others were told
before Friday.
Krause said it’s
difficult to
name what he
likes best about
Oktoberfest. He
and Krin have
enjoyed the
Festmaster’s
Ball, the Maple
Leaf and
Torchlight
parades, as well
as Heritage
Night, he said.
“I don’t know if
I could pick out
just one event,”
he said.
Oktoberfest runs
through
Saturday, Oct 6.
